Adobe Reader

You must use Adobe Reader (7.0.5 or greater) to complete our PDF forms on your computer.

Smartphone and Tablet

Most mobile devices allow users to open and view a passport application form. You will be able to read, email or print the form. However, the current generation of Adobe Reader for mobile devices does not allow users to complete our application forms.

Safari

The integrated PDF viewer in Safari browser will not allow you to complete our forms. Make sure Adobe Reader is installed.

Option 1: How to open in Adobe Reader from the Mac PDF viewer (Preview) contextual menu example

Right-click the PDF and select Open in Adobe Reader.

Option 2: How to save from the PDF link

Before you click on the PDF link, read Save a copy on your Desktop on this page.

Internet Explorer

The integrated PDF viewer in Internet Explorer 10 on Windows 8 will not allow you to complete our forms. Make sure Adobe Reader is installed.

Option 1: How to save from the Windows 8 PDF viewer (Windows Reader)
  1. Right-click the PDF;
  2. Click Save as Save as button example;
  3. Save window exampleIn the new window, select Desktop and click Save.
  4. Proceed to opening the form in Adobe Reader section of this page.
Option 2: How to save from the PDF link

Before you click on the PDF link, read Save a copy on your Desktop on this page.

Note:

For Internet Explorer 9 and previous versions, clearing the cache solves most of the known issues.

Chrome

The integrated PDF viewer in Chrome will not allow you to complete our forms. Make sure Adobe Reader is installed.

Option 1 (on a PC): How to open in Adobe Reader from Chrome PDF viewer Open in Adobe Reader window example in Crome If the PDF is already open in your browser, click on the PDF icon in the top right-hand corner and then click on Open in Adobe Reader.
Option 1 (on a Mac): How to save from Chrome PDF viewer
  1. If the PDF is already open in your browser, save it on your Desktop using one of the following methods:
    • Click Save Save button example;
    • Use the keyboard shortcut Command+S;
    • Right-click the PDF and select Save as...; or
    • Click the Chrome menu Chrome menu button example on the browser toolbar and select Save page as....
  2. Save window exampleIn the new window, select Desktop then click Save.
  3. Proceed to opening the form in Adobe Reader section of this page.
Option 2: How to save from the PDF link

Before you click on the PDF link, read Save a copy on your Desktop on this page.

Firefox

The integrated PDF viewer in Firefox will not allow you to complete our forms. Make sure Adobe Reader is installed.

Option 1: How to open in Adobe Reader from Firefox PDF viewer
  1. If the PDF is already open in your browser, save it on your Desktop using one of the following methods:
    • Click on Open with different Viewer in the top yellow bar;Yellow top bar screenshot or
    • Click Download Save button example.
  2. Save window exampleIn the new window, select Open with and Adobe Reader then click OK.

Download a local copy

You can save the application form to your computer then open it.

Save a copy on your Desktop
  1. Right-click on the forms link and select:

    • Save Target As... (Internet Explorer);
    • Save Link As... (Chrome or FireFox); or
    • Download Linked File As... (Safari).
  2. Save window screenshot In the new window, select Desktop then click Save.
  3. Proceed to opening the form in Adobe Reader section of this page.

Opening the form in Adobe Reader

Select your prefered method to open the form in Adobe Reader:

Method 1: From your Desktop Contextual menu screenshot

Locate the form on your Desktop, right-click and select Open With, then select Adobe Reader.

Method 2: From within Adobe Reader
  1. Adobe Reader File menu screenshotClick on File from the top menu and select Open or use keyborad shortcut Ctrl+O in Windows or Command+O on a Mac.
